History of Vertical form fill seal machines:
Vertical form fill seal machines are mainly used for packaging for food products in a bag. This particular type of equipment uses a roll stock to form a bag , then fill the bag in coordination with a filling machine and then seal and cut the bag. As retail industry grew there was a huge demand of packaged foods in super markets in the early 1900's. More and more food manufacturing companies were trying to increase their packaging rate and also keeping the labour cost in control as well. Hence Vertical form fill seal machines were developed by packaging engineers in Europe and America to cope with the growing demands of the economy.
Applications of Vertical form fill seal machines:
Vertical form fill seal machines are used mostly for packaging food products in a bag. There are various filling machines which are mounted on top of the vertical ffs machines to feed the product in to the bag. Combination Scales or linear scales are used for filling most solid food products including nuts, coffee beans , chips , pop corn, cereal various extruded food products, frozen and fresh fruits and vegetables , Pet food. An auger filler is used to fill powders and similar products in to a bag. Piston fillers are used for filling liquids in to the bag.
